Privacy policy

Resteazy is a family household management app. We take privacy seriously and build the product to keep your family's data with your family.
What we collect
- Account info: your name, email, username, and an optional profile photo.
- Household content: events, tasks, chores, recipes, documents, chat messages, photos you upload, and other items you add to the app.
- Location: when you allow it, while the app is open, to show local weather and nearby family activities. We do not track location in the background.
- Device info: device model, OS version, crash diagnostics (Sentry), and push tokens (Firebase Cloud Messaging / APNs) so reminders and invites can arrive.
- Product events: first-party usage events that help us see whether features work. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising.
How we use it
- To operate the app and sync your household across devices.
- To send notifications you opt into (event reminders, invites, push alerts).
- To process subscriptions you start (Apple In-App Purchase or Stripe on the web).
- To improve reliability via aggregated, non-identifying diagnostics.
AI features
When you use the AI assistant, your prompt and relevant household context are sent to our backend, which forwards a redacted version to our AI provider (OpenAI). We strip emails and phone numbers from logs. We never sell or share prompts, and we do not use your household content to train generalized models.
Google Calendar data
If you choose to connect Google Calendar, Resteazy requests the calendar.events.readonly scope and uses it only to operate the import you asked for. We read events from your primary Google Calendar, limited to one month in the past through three months ahead, so your existing commitments appear alongside your household's shared events. We do not write events back to Google, create or delete calendars, or access secondary or shared calendars.
Synced event data is stored on our infrastructure (Supabase), isolated per user by row-level security, and used solely to display your calendar inside Resteazy. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, use it to train generalized machine learning models, or transfer it to third parties except as required to operate the service or comply with law.
You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from Calendar settings. Disconnecting immediately deletes our stored Google access and refresh tokens and every event we synced from your Google Calendar. You can also revoke access directly at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Resteazy's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Sharing
We never sell your data. Household content is only visible to invited members of your household. Circle and event invites go only to people you choose. We share data with service providers strictly to operate the service: Supabase (hosting and auth), Stripe (web billing), Apple (in-app purchases), OpenAI (assistant), Firebase / APNs (push), Sentry (crash diagnostics), and Postmark or Resend (transactional email).
Children
Resteazy is built for families, but accounts are for adults. The app is not directed at children under 13. Parents may add a child as a household member. We do not knowingly create an independent account for anyone under 13.
Your rights
You can delete your account at any time from Settings > Account. Deleting your account removes your login, transfers or deletes households you own, deletes Google Calendar tokens we stored for you, and cancels an active Stripe subscription tied to a home you own. Apple subscriptions are managed in your Apple ID settings. For a copy of your data, email support@resteazy.ai and we will send it.
